By applying to join or remaining a member of the Templates.net topsites list, you are presumed to have agreed to the following rules. If you do not agree, or are not able to keep the rules, you may not join. We would be the first to admit that these are strict rules, but we have over four years' experience of operating large topsites lists and know that to be fair to all members, such rules are necessary.
1. The primary language of your site must be English, unless the primary language is clearly stated in your title or at the beginning of your description - for example: "French language site". Alternatively, the entire title and description may be written in the primary language of your site.
2. Member sites must contain a significant proportion of quality content related to web templates and/or web design and may not in addition contain content including but not limited to pornography, pirated software (warez), hacking, illegal sound, image or video files, racism or other hate literature.
3. Member sites may not include in the site name, description or button graphic they display on Templates.net any enticement to click through based on a claim or implication of inclusion of any content prohibited above. Members who are affiliates of template providers who enable affiliates to set discount pricing may not advertise in their listing the percentage discounts they offer. We reserve the right to edit this material accordingly, or for reasons of spelling, grammar, punctuation, format, clarity or length.
4. Your button, displayed on Templates.net, must be 88×31 pixels (width by height) and less (preferably a lot less!) than 20Kb. If your button link is missing or broken or if your button itself is judged to be inappropriate or of a low quality, we reserve the right to change it to a default button.
5. The email address associated with your account must remain active. Our use of this email address will be within the terms of our
Privacy Policy.
6. Attempts to create multiple accounts for the same site can be trapped by our software. Any attempt to circumvent such systems will result in the deletion of duplicate accounts.
7. Cheating is defined as attempting to artificially generate hits into the toplist. Our software logs several kinds of cheating attempts, and we reserve the right to implement a zero tolerance policy in respect of any such attempts. Any site that is found attempting to use artificial means to generate hits in will be removed and may be banned from future use of our service. In particular, opening your toplist link in a popup, popunder or exit window is not permitted.
8. Spamming your toplist link is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, unsolicited bulk email, forum/newsgroup postings and IRC.
9. By submitting your site, you agree that we reserve the right to edit or remove any member site, for any reason, and although we normally will explain our actions, we are under no obligation to do so.
10. It has come to our attention that a number of affiliate websites exist at non-generic domain names that are deliberately very similar to the domain names of template providers. Whether or not actual misrepresentation is taking place, we view this practice with considerable suspicion, in particular when such an affiliate site is in direct competition with the similarly-named template provider, and we will not knowingly accept as a member any site that utilizes such a method.
11. We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time. Any such changes will be posted on this page.
